Some Comments from Our Patients

"Dr. Pan has been an integral part of my healing. I have had reoccurring bladder infections and pelvic pain for eight months to a year. A local urologist has diagnosed me with interstitial cystitis. After seeing almost ten doctors and getting many differing opinions from medications to surgery, I decided to take a chance on Eastern medicine. This is when a friend referred me to Dr. Pan. When I started seeing Dr. Pan my bladder pain, urethral pain and urinary urgency was a 7 on a scale from 1 to 10. After several visits I went to a 5. Now, after 4 weeks, I am at a 3. My pain and urgency has been significantly reduced. I believe it is a combination of the acupuncture and herbs. I feel Dr. Pan is an expert in her field and she educates her patients, as well as treats them with empathy and utmost attention. I highly recommend her to my closest friends and family."

Chinese Healing Arts

After practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine for more than 17 years in both China and the United States, Lin Pan opened Pan Acupuncture & Herb in Granite Bay in June 2007.

As a licensed acupuncturist and Oriental medical doctor, she offers a wide range of treatments using acupuncture and herbs. Among her specialties are treatments for pain relief, healing of common ailments and treatments for menstrual problems.

An East-West Take On Flu Prevention

December not only signals the holiday season, but also heralds the approach of the "flu season."

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advocates flu shots, particularly around National Influenza Vaccination Week from Dec. 8-14.

Both Western and Chinese medicine prescribe nutritional and lifestyle approaches to treat the flu. While the two medical systems acknowledge a similar root cause, they also advise different treatments, as can be seen by comparing information provided by local health practitioners.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Talks Nutrition

While she has practiced traditional Chinese medicine in the U.S. for more than 19 years, she received her formal medical training at one of China's premier medical institutions. By the time Pan graduated from the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1989, she had majored in both acupuncture and nutrition, besides completing training in modern western medicine.
